Radio, redeemed

It gives me great pleasure to report that Kyle and I have found a radio station that, at least for now, is making us very happy. It's 99.3 "The Vine," straight outta Napa. The DJs and commercials are about as bad as everywhere else, but the playlist is delightfully random. We can only figure that this station is somehow not owned by a Clear Channel-type conglomerate, and the DJs really just play what they feel like. Our favorite "Vine" moment this week was hearing the "Welcome Back Kotter" theme song right into "Oh L'Amour." Masterful.

Do you remember when Star 100.3 started and they were really just 80s? What made them lose their gumption and switch to that crappy 80s, 90s, now lite rock format? I hope the Vine has the fortitude to stay true to their "roots."

Any radio station that plays the theme song from 'Welcome Back, Kotter' is a-okay with me. Nice work, you two.

You are living in a dream world. Clear Channel definitely owns it. Radio will be back on punishment by Friday.

We are currently listening to Ray Parker Jr.'s classic "Ghostbusters." Sure it's Halloween, but believe me when I tell you that this is the kind of station where you could EASILY hear it at any random time. It's truly awesome.
