Team Shane
On Saturday David G. turned his apartment into an Irish bar for the night. In other words, the whiskey was flowing, and trivia was the order of the day. I teamed up with Jon and Molly under the name Team Shane (named after our favorite "L Word" character), and we were smoking hot the first round or two. I knew we would win when this guy (above right) who came late asked to join our team... and he introduced himself as Ivan (the name of one of our other favorite "L Word" characters! Well, okay, they're all our favorite.) With Ivan in our pocket we sailed to victory (by .5 point), drank our prize (champagne) and proceeded to eat birthday cake and dance.
After the contest Hal and I had a very interesting conversation with Judith, who is a minor internet celebrity! She lost her camera in Hawaii and her struggles with the people who found it, and are now holding it hostage, have been something of a web phenom. Well, I didn't know about it until I met her, but Hal knew, and if you Google "lost camera" you get not just her blog but news articles and posts from other people's blogs about it. I hope she gets her camera back, but really I was just excited to meet the center of a controversy, even if I didn't know about it until she told me.

I have so many responses! Here's just a few...
1. Excellent post, Emily! You captured the excitement of the game, the nervewracking competition, the near losses (witness Jon's pose in the photo), and then, finally, our incredible triumph! Team Shane stood true for its namesake! AND we correctly identified all of the famous chests from David's past (bar one -- but who would have thought that wasn't Prince Valiant??).
2. Do you think Katherine Moennig might hear about this and, well, call us?
3. I saw that lost camera blog last week! I can't believe I was at the very same party as its author and I had no idea. (Of course, why *would* I have an idea, but still...) It just goes to show that I should attend more parties than, er, one per year.
4. Does this post mean you forgive us for our tragic slip-up this weekend?
Love,
Molly

I feel like I don't know Molly, and that Emily has this whole other life revolving around cable TV that I'm just not a part of.

Please, Emily for the love of God and all that is Holy, urge this "Judith" to update her blog. I read every comment made to her story and I'm starving for new information!
